The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) was set up in 1947 by Resolution No. 36 (IV) accepted on 28 March, 1947 by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the United Nations’ central platform for reflection, debate, and innovative thinking on sustainable development. The former Czechoslovakia became one of the founding members of the UNECE on 28 March, 1947.
